ViewSonic Adds Computers to Lineup
A look at ViewSonic’s new computer products, which should be available next month.
Offerings include new Netbook, an AIO PC and an attachable PC to save workspace.
ViewSonic is known for its displays. Now they want to give you the rest of the package. Today, the company announced a few PC products, designed for the user that’s low on space.
At 2.6 pounds, the VieBook ($429) is the company’s first netbook. Featuring a 10.2-inch screen, ViewSonic says that the weight and 3-hour battery life make it a nice option for travelers and students alike.
Those looking to be more stationary might want the VPC100 ViePC ($549), an all-in-one package that includes DVD +/- RW, integrated stereo speakers, a 3-in-1 card reader, and an 18.5-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It seems like a lot, but at 35mm thin, it doesn’t suck up a lot of desk space, either.
Last, but not least, is the LinkPC ($399), an attachable PC box that can be connected to any VESA-compatible monitor. So if you’ve got a ViewSonic monitor that you already like, this small, simple unit can be added for basic office tasks and web access.
Each of the units includes an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive, and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. All three will be available next month.
