Veoh Promises Portable Video Via SanDisk

The two companies join up to offer video on the go.

Instead of relying on iTunes or another video program for all of your on-the-go entertainment, SanDisk has a little surprise inside its Cruzer. The company just announced that the USB flash drive will come packed with Veoh’s Web Player.

Plug in the drive and you can search all of Veoh’s content, which includes TV shows, movies, and a slew of other stuff. Big deal? Well, it sort of is. See, the drive/player combo will allow you to access said content, even if you aren’t connected to the web.

“The Veoh Web Player is a perfect companion for SanDisk’s Cruzer USB flash drives because our customers often want to watch videos when they’re away from home and it often isn’t possible to install software on the computer itself,” said Yaniv Lavi, SanDisk’s director of product marketing for the consumer retail business unit. “Our SanDisk Cruzer USB Drives are ideal for watching and downloading videos because they come in capacities of up to 16GB1, are technologically capable of streaming high definition content and come equipped with security features that help protect user privacy.”

Veoh is a password-protected application. That means if someone sees you enjoying untethered entertainment, they can’t snag your drive in a jealous fit. Also, if you use the system at work, don’t worry about leaving behind traces of your “90210” addiction. The small device uses U3 Smart technology, which doesn’t requite a separate video application.

SanDisk’s Cruzer is available now in various models, which start at $10. If you already have one, you can get the Veoh upgrade for free on the web.
