On Tuesday, Tweeter had closed its remaining stores, leaving staff and customers confused.

There are rumors that the retailer may open its doors to finish out the weekend.

There could be some activity at your local Tweeter this weekend. Put away your wheelbarrow; it won’t be looters.

Twice says that the store might reopen tomorrow to finish out its weekend sales. If this happens, the store could be operating under Chapter 7, which means—well, we’re not sure. Does that mean customers can pick up orders? More importantly, which employees would actually show up? Maybe some will come to collect a check and possibly office supplies and any remaining stock. However, we can’t imagine they’d be much help. We don’t blame them.

Earlier this week, Tweeter shut all of its remaining stores, without warning. The retailer wanted to flip from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7. This allowed the company to free up some cash, which will supposedly be used to finish clearing out stores and pay remaining staff.

Nothing has been formally announced, and the Tweeter site is still down—there’s not even a finger. Still, Twice says that it spoke to two Tweeter workers who were asked to come back to work.
