Top 10 Blu-ray Releases for September 28
Iron Man 2 flies onto shelves this week in high-definition.
Movies based on comic books can be very hit or miss. When Iron Man came out, it was an instant it - different, unexpected, self-deprecating in parts.
And along with The Dark Knight, another comic-book-based movie, it’s release on Blu-ray format helped push the HD disc more mainstream. Well like The Dark Knight, Iron Man 2 is pretty good for a sequel. Maybe not Dark Knight good, but certainly worth checking out on a big screen if you can.
Not only does Robert Downey Jr. still get the job done, but Gwyneth Paltrow returns and we get some great cast infusion with Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Don Cheadle this time.
If you’re looking for another action hero, you might as well check out Hero. Quentin Tarantino goes into production mode to help deliver this Jet Li warrior flick. As you may know, Li’s movies aren’t exactly yawners, so hopefully you’re display can handle fast action scenes.
On the music side, one of the best series around is the Classic Albums franchise that really takes you inside the production and recording of, you guessed it, some classic albums. This time around we get a daily double—the signature 2112 and Moving Pictures releases that helped shape the enduring career of Canadian rockers Rush. We’ll let Geddy, Alex and Neil tell you the whole stories.
