Theta Digital just announced the latest version of its Casablanca platform. The Casablanca IV Music and Cinema Controller adds in Dirac Live 96K digital room correction and optimization, as well as Theta’s own Jitter Jail II and new post-processing capabilities.

The standout amongst the new features can be found in the PR-3 post-processing card. This card quadruples the DSP power of the platform, ups the audio bandwidth, and consolidates all of the component’s digital inputs into a single input slot. That also leaves another slot open, for future expansion or to add additional processing power.

Also worth noting is that the Casablanca IV has new metal work and a new display window.

“We had two goals with this project, to make a significant improvement in the Casablanca user’s experience and to ready the Casablanca platform for the next decade of audio innovation,” said Dave Reich, Theta Digital’s chief engineer. “Dirac Live 96K and Jitter Jail II fix real sonic issues caused by the listening room and source material, while the innovative expandable PR-3 card leaves the door open for new sources and new DSP solutions.”

Theta Digital has listed the Casablanca IV with a starting price of $16,245. If you have one of the previous Casablanca preamp/processors, the company also announced an upgrade program. The price of the upgrade will vary, based on which Casablanca component you currently own. Contact your Theta Digital dealer or distributor for more information.
