We’ve grown accustomed to convenient shoot-and-click devices. Most people are comfortable enough taking pictures with a phone instead of a camera these days.

So it goes for shooting video as well. If you don’t want to carry a camcorder, Swann Communications is giving you the option to have video on a stick—its MovieStick super-slim digital video recorder.

The company says the MovieStick is only a little bigger than a pack of gum, and weighs less than an ounce. It packs some video punch, though, because with a removable 2-GB Micro SD card (you’ll have to buy it separately) you can record up to 2.5 hours of video.

The SD card also makes it a snap to transfer and share recordings, with convenient storage. Swann says websites that host videos (hmmm ... the YouTube effect) was a big influence on the product’s form and function. It includes a built-in lithium battery that can recharge via the USB port.

Of course, coming from a company that makes some stealthy surveillance products (and mostly DIY), putting together a pocket-size camera was probably pretty fun. Look for it from Swann retail and online resellers for $119.
