If you’re looking for the top electronics name when it comes to luxury, Bang & Olufsen stands above the rest, according to the most recent survey from independent researcher the Luxury Institute.

In the Institute’s 2008 Luxury Brand Status Index survey, which sampled 1,400 American consumers with an average income of $341,000 and average net worth of $3.9 million, Danish manufacturer Bang & Olufsen topped the video and audio categories as the most presitgious luxury audio and video brand.

Respondents cited B&O’s combination of high performance and high style in their products.

Luxury Institute CEO Milton Pedraza noted that “although technological innovation in video has been accelerating, it is accessible to most brands. [However,] few brands have differentiated on design, ease of use, service and other attributes that are just as important to luxury video consumers.”
