SurgeX Debuts SEQ-1U Surge Eliminator and Power Conditioner
New features make the SEQ-1U an intelligently compact energy management device.
Despite the warnings, surge suppression still seems like an afterthought to some people. Say it ain’t so! Once you get zapped, you’ll learn your lesson. However, it would save you a lot of money (and tears) if you just added a little something preventative into your setup.
SurgeX just introduced the 1U Sequencer (SEQ-1U), a single rack surge protection, conditioning, and sequencing solution. Designed for any size AV or IT installation, the unit works with audio, video and computer equipment.
It can do that via proprietary SurgeX technology, such as Advanced Series Mode surge elimination. This promises to stop all (not just some) surges, up to 6,000 volts or 3,000 amps. SurgeX says that users also don’t have to worry about ground contamination or common-mode disturbances. Lightning, take your best shot!
Besides protecting AV and IT goodies, the SEQ-1U has nine available outlets. Other features include Impedance Tolerant EMI/RFI filtering and COUVS (Catastrophic Over/Under Voltage Shutdown), as well as SurgeX ICE (Inrush Current Elimination). It also boasts an easy setup through the unit’s front-panel LCD display and support for any type of control unit, as well as DC voltage or contact closure feedback to Crestron, AMX and other similar control interfaces.
Featuring a load rating of 20 amps at 120 volts, the SEQ-1U meets Federal Grade A, Class 1, Mode 1 (A-1-1) guidelines for powerline surge suppressors. It’s available now.
