You may finally be able to take the Slacker web service on the go. The personalized Internet radio service just announced that its Slacker Portable Players are available for pre-order.

It may be hard to believe, since we were first teased with the option several months ago. The company is still dragging its feet a bit. Pre-order? What do you expect from a bunch of Slackers?

The service includes a slew of pre-programmed radio stations, as well as the choice to create new stations based on favorite artists.

Three portable players will be available: the 2GB holds 15 stations, the 4GB takes 25 and the 8GB model carries 40 of those special stations anywhere you roam. Prices start at $200.

Portable player or not, the service still costs $7.50 per month. For that, you get unlimited song skipping and the ability to play favorites. If you can endure some ads and avoid the skipping, check out the free version of the radio service on Slacker’s website.
