SIM2 products are usually synonymous with home theater sexiness—as well as a hefty price tag. Now they are getting a bit more affordable with the Domino D60 DLP projector.

The unit promises full 1080p high-def, but for under $5,000. However, it’s not the first time that SIM2 has flashed a 4-digit price tag. “We now have three offerings under $10,000 that compete against anything else in this hot category,” said Charlie Boornazian SIM2’s VP of sales and marketing.

While the price is enticing, the picture is practically drool-worthy, boasting a single-chip DLP projection system, based on Texas Instruments’ DarkChip3 0.95-inch DMD chipset. SIM2 says to expect an image better than projectors that feature a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Other features include dual HDMI inputs, a 12-volt trigger, three different preset modes (Cinema, Dynamic, and Standard), and three user-customizable memories.

The D60 is shipping now for $4,995.
