
Screen Excellence’s Performance Series fixed frame acoustically transparent screen
Looking for that slick, aesthetically perfect, unencumbered home theater? If that includes not seeing some tower or bookshelf speakers in the front of your room, you’re probably checking out acoustically transparent screens.
British manufacturer Screen Excellence has a new crop of moire-free projection screens called its “Performance” Series.
The line joins the company’s Reference Series—talk about a couple of names with big billing—and True Aspect Masking Series in the fixed frame category of acoustically transparent models.
The new Performance Series offers a lower-cost entry point and comes in four sizes—70, 80, 87 and 95 inches of viewing area in width.
Pricing for the 1.78:1 (16:9) traditional high-def aspect ratio screen starts at $1,630 for the 70-inch-wide version (distributed in the U.S. through the StJohn Group).
