Pro Control, a newly created division of Remote Technologies Inc. (RTI), has unveiled a new line of remote control technology targeted for custom installers.

RTI made the announcement at CES 2010, quashing speculation that the entire company’s name is changing to Pro Control.

The initial Pro Control lineup includes:

  • PRO-24.z Remote—Features a color OLED touchscreen display capable of controlling components via 433-MHz RF or receiving feedback from devices such as A/V receivers, lighting systems, iPods and HVAC thermostats utilizing ZigBee technology.
  • PRO-24.i Remote—It has a color touchscreen for one-way IR control at lower price point.

Both remotes use wizard-style Windows-based programming.

The central processors, dubbed include the PROLINK.4 and PROLINK.z, operate via 433-MHz RF communication to operate electronic systems reliably while the powerful PROLINK.z control processor enables two-way ZigBee communication and feedback with A/V receivers, iPods, lights, HVAC systems and more.

In addition to touting the ergonomic design, Mike Everett, general manager of Pro Control, says consumers “are looking for intuitive, professional-grade solutions that can be tailored to their specific needs.” He says the new remotes “meet these tough demands by providing powerful control over even the most complex systems — all at a great value.”
