Rotel Electronics announced a new five-channel surround-sound receiver at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show. The RSX-1058 features 5 x 75 watts per channel, a video scaler, four HDMI connections and the ability to play music simultaneously in four different rooms of the house.

A major highlight is the integrated video scaler, which upsamples and optimizes all video sources (including, satellite, cable VCR and DVD players) at up to 1080i resolution. Four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output provide advanced connections for newer source components and TV monitors.
