Maxell’s recordable Blu-ray disc for camcorders
Man, time flies when you’re having fun with technology.
Circa 10 years ago, I was buying Maxell XL-II and the cooler, higher-quality XL-IIS audio cassettes in bulk to satisfy my tape-trading hobby. That changed to CD-Rs a couple of years later.
Fast-forward to the late 2000’s and now we have that recordable media icon Maxell giving us Blu-ray BD-R and BD-RE discs for the handful of people who own HD camcorders (it would be sweet to get pristine HD footage of my 13-month-old daughter for posterity on one of Hitachi’s new Blu-ray camcorders, that’s for sure).
Write-once BD-Rs and rewritable BD-RE discs with their 7.5-GB recording capacity go for $24.99 and $34.99, respectively. Now when you record Mom’s surprise 50th birthday party, you can save her reaction in true HD at 1920 x 1080 pixels. She’ll love that.
