If you’re in need of some serious juice to drive your big audiophile loudspeakers, Pass Laboratories has five options for you in its new XA.5 Series Power Amplifiers.

The output is improved over previous models from Pass Labs’ XA series, dishing out more than five times the current to let you power up speakers that even have very difficult loads, the company says.

The series models are the XA200.5, XA160.5, XA100.5, XA60.5 and XA30.5. Pricing per pair, respectively, is: $31,000; $20,000; $15,000; $10,000; and $5,000 (each for the XA30.5). Wattage per channel matches the model number, so the XA200.5 drives 200 watts per channel, for example.

Other highlights Pass Labs points to:

  • Greater stability from using little frequency roll-offs, lag capacitors, output coils, Zobel networks and other techniques.
  • Lower noise through circuits that shrug off environmental noise and resist mechanical transformer noise from bad AC lines.
  • Better bias control that keeps them more constant against fluctuations in temperature, line voltages and signal transients.
  • Higher efficiency in the amount of about 20 percent, leading to about 20 percent greater output power.
  • Greater reliability as they are harder to break (and easier to repair if they do) from their build quality.

It all adds up to superior warmth, depth and spaciality in your loudspeakers, the company says, that won’t dissapoint audiophiles as they crank up their quality recordings.
