Pass Labs Launches Stunning Xs Amplifier Series
The new Xs-300 and Xs-150 amps will be the first in the new lineup.
Pass Labs is out in Vegas this week, but you won’t find them on the 2013 International CES show floor. Instead, the company is hoarding some of its new products, making them exclusive to visitors of the Venetian. We don’t blame them—it’s quite the stunning crop!
The company just debuted its Xs Series of amplifiers. To start, the line will include the Xs-300 and the Xs-150. Both are monoblock models, designed to deliver 300 and 150 watts, respectively.
Each one is a beautiful beast, with a double-stacked chassis that has the power supply and current source in one section and the input and main output stage in the other.
Pass Labs has been working on this line for 3 years. During that time, the company developed several new refinements, including adjusting the values for push-pull Class A biasing and the amount of single-ended bias in the output stage. They also increased the single-end bias in the output stage. Other features include sturdy output stage transistors and massive heat sink assemblies.
Pass Labs will start selling the Xs-300 and the Xs-150 sometime in the first quarter of 2013. Each model will be available via authorized Pass Labs dealers for $85,000 and $65,000 per pair, respectively.
