Panasonic 50” 3D Plasma is ‘Superior’
Panasonic 50-inch TX-P50VT20 3D Plasma
Black levels are lauded and excels with HD and SD content.
Reviews of Panasonic 3D plasmas are still trickling out, but the UK’s TechRadar had great things to say about the TX-P50VT20.
While mostly equivalent to the Magnolia-exclusive TC-P50VT20, the main differences are bezel color and FreeView/FreeSat tuners.
Outside of geographical feature differences, performance ratings should translate directly to the VT20 and VT25 series displays. Black levels are lauded, as might be expected. What might not be expected, but is pleasantly surprising, is how the VT20 handles SD content, displaying its full granulation with no detail loss from deinterlacing or scaling. HD image quality is as impressive, with sharp detail and natural color rendition.
All of the above is great for a 2D display, but what good is having a 3D-capable display if it can’t perform? Luckily, the Panasonic VT20 shines with no presence of left/right cross-talk, but some effects to color rendition and brightness.
One complaint was the 3D glasses being uncomfortable in extended viewing.
