VoIP provider Ooma is making its offerings a little more interesting. The company just announced a pair of accessories that will bring some “smartphone features” to your boring old house phone.

The first up is the Ooma HD2 Handset, which can tap into Ooma’s cloud-enabled platform for integration with Facebook, Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Outlook and Mac AddressBook. Also, once you’ve loaded all of those goodies into the phone, the handset’s 2-inch color screen will double as a picture-based caller ID.

Other handset features include the latest DECT technology, one-touch voicemail and a speakerphone. Also, Ooma says the handset can be configured so it can be used as a baby monitor.

Next up is the Ooma Linx (pictured below with the Ooma Telo). This little add-on can wirelessly connect phones, fax machines or other telephony devices to the Ooma Telo. If you’re a premium Ooma subscriber, the Linx can also provide access to a second phone line, without the need for another handset.

“The Ooma HD2 Handset and Ooma Linx address two important needs expressed by our customers—the ability to blend the smartphone and home phone experience and the wireless freedom to connect telephony devices to the Ooma Telo,” said Dennis Peng, Ooma’s VP of product management. “These new technologies are prime examples of our dedication to delivering the most complete and affordable home phone solution for our customers.”

Ooma is selling both products now. The Ooma HD2 Handset has an MSRP of $59.99, with the Ooma Linx priced at $49.99.
