Media rooms are not all about mammoth tower loudspeakers these days. Many people want concealed speakers and elegant decor, now that they have nice wall-mounted flat-panel TVs that aren’t eyesores, and don’t hog as much space.

Furniture is becoming more and more important in the media/family rooms, as evidenced by OmniMount’s addition of not one, not two, but six new pieces to its Moda Collection of A/V furniture.

Here’s a rundown of the pieces:

  • Vent 65—The slats aid in the cooling of A/V equipment, while a dark zebra finish highlights the natural grain of the real wood veneer. Adjustable shelves easily accommodate multiple components, and you can house up to 65-inch flat panels and 73-inch DLPs. $899.95.
  • Silhouette 65—Also features soft-close hinges and a generous speaker cloth-covered space for concealing center-channel speakers. The architecturally-inspired wood slat doors help cool the A/V gear stored inside, and it features the dark zebra finish. Accommodates up to 65-inch flat panels and 73-inch DLPs. $999.95.
  • Silhouette 48—Shaped to fit in corners, features brushed stainless steal legs to accent its dark zebra wood finish. Has a generous speaker cloth-covered space for concealing center channels. Holds up to 50-inch flat panels and DLPs. $799.95.
  • Echo 63—Simple in design and offers a completely unobstructed view to showcase audio and video accessories. Clean lines and a dark espresso finish, with indented channel lines the back of the furniture, allowing A/V cables to tuck out of sight. Accommodates up to 63-inch flat panels and 65-inch DLPs. $249.95.
  • Echo 50—Like the Echo 63 in being ideal for minimalists and provides a simple, unobstructed view of A/V gear. Accommodates up to 50-inch flat panels and DLPs. $199.95.
  • Echo A3—Able to work as a standalone piece or companion to the Echo 50 or 63, this three-shelf tower is available in espresso. $249.95.

Now all you have to do is figure out what’s best for your room—your wife will be grateful if you can hide the center speaker too.
