The buzz has been out there for a while, but Niveus has made the Sierra Edition Media Server official.

Powered by Windows Vista with all of the ease and digital goodness that Media Center features can offer, this unit boasts low power (less than 180 watts), which also gives it that “green” selling point that we should be seeing in bulk this year.

Under the hood there’s an Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor and Mobile Intel GM965 Express Chipset. Other features include an optional HD DVD drive, up to 750GB of Seagate hard drives, video scaling up to 1080p and nVidia’s GeForce Series 8 graphics.

Pricing hasn’t been announced, but the unit should be available starting Q1 this year. In case you’re in a hurry to start spending, Niveus also just announced that their Media Extender is available immediately for an unknown price.
