New Supernova Screen Offers Retractable Flexibility
Supernova Flex Screen from dnp
The Supernova Flex Screen from dnp delivers high contrast ratio, wide viewing angles and is motorized to retract.
Optical projection screen manufacturer dnp has introduced a twist on its Supernova Screen, a retractable, motorized version called the Supernova Flex Screen.
The company designed the Supernova Flex Screen to blend into any environment and disappears into a stylish wall mounted enclosure when not in use. The Supernova Flex Screen delivers up to 10 times higher contrast than standard front screens for a bright picture even outside the confines of a dark room, says dnp.
The technology is based on a high-contrast filter that allows the projected image to be reflected from the screen, effectively absorbing incident light from other angles such as windows and room lighting. As a result, the screen is virtually unaffected by ambient light, dnp says.
Because it is retractable, the Supernova Flex can adapt to just about any setting. At the push of a button, a fast motor allows the screen to drop down and retract into its housing. The cover of the wall-mounted enclosure is removable and replaceable, and offered in a variety of options including black, white, silver-gray aluminum, blond maple and cherry wood. The cover is also available in a special stainable surface that can be painted to match any decor.
The dnp Supernova Flex Screen material has recently been certified by the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) for its image quality. With a half gain of 82 degrees, the widest in the industry, this screen provides full 180 degrees of viewing, the company says.
Compatible with all standard projectors, the dnp Supernova Flex Screen is available in 4:3, 16:9 and Cinemascope formats in sizes up to 100 inches.
