Runco’s new plasmas are rated at up to 9,000 feet
Six new plasma displays recently introduced by Runco International, Inc., now have counterparts. Runco’s three new CinemaWall and PlasmaWall additions, are solutions for high-altitude residents and high-performance enthusiasts, as the models have been rated for use up to 9,000 ft MSL (mean sea level), the company says.
Each plasma, bearing the “xa” designation, shares all features and specifications with its corresponding non-“xa” model, in addition to the high-altitude capabilities, to display high-definition content with rich colors, excellent contrast, and deep black levels, says Runco. Homeowners in Colorado won’t have to worry about that buzzing noise that can occur in plasmas at high altitudes, for example.
The company’s 16:9 (1024x768, 1365x768 and 1365x768) CinemaWall portfolio SP-42xa, SP-50xa and SP-60xa models, and PlasmaWall portfolio, SP-42DHDxa, SP-50DHDxa and SP-60DHDxa, are designed to meet any high-altitude application by offering a full range of screen sizes (42, 50 and 60 inches, respectively). The displays join the company’s previously announced 65-inch, 1080p XP-65DHDxa in the lineup.
Each PlasmaWall model features the latest generation of Runco’s DHD Digital High Definition Video Controller/Processor with advanced Vivix II processing that reproduces stunning video imagery and elevates standard NTSC material (such as cable or satellite) to near-HD quality. The CinemaWall models also feature Runco’s integrated Vivix II processing.
The plasma displays, which sport a high-gloss black frame and measure 4 inches deep, can be easily placed on a desktop or mounting on a wall or ceiling. Each offers an array of input and output selections, including: RGB, DVI with HDCP, Composite S-video, HD, DVI Video, RS-232, as well as five audio inputs.
