Last week, we were talking up Netflix and the company’s plan to create a streaming-only option for the U.S. This week, the plan seems to be in effect—at least somewhere.
It’s unclear who is getting this option, but Engadget was able to get a hold of the pricing structure. Unlimited U.S. streaming will be priced the same as it is in Canada, for $7.99 per month.
If you want to get an actual disc sent to your house, that will be an additional $2—which means the cost for one disc at a time is actually going up a dollar. Plans that offer two and three discs at a time will go up $1, while the 4-disc plan will stick at $23.99 per month. They are also adding options to receive up to eight discs at a time. Do you need that? If so, it will cost you $47.99 per month.
My Netflix account isn’t offering a streaming-only plan yet. Does anyone out there currently have this option?
