NAD Rocks Out C 516BEE CD Player
The new component replaces the popular NAD C 515BEE.
There are plenty of companies still rocking out CD players—good ones. NAD Electronics just came forth with its latest, the C 516BEE CD Player.
The affordable player is designed to replace the popular NAD C 515BEE. Of course, it can also play CDs, as well as CD-R/W discs. It even plays MP3 and WMA files copied to a CD-R. It does that for the magical price of $299 (MSRP).
Packing in the latest Cirrus Logic 24/192 D/A Converters, the unit has audio-specific OP amps and a choice of coax or optical digital outputs. Other features include a repeat function for one song, disc or A-B repeat, as well as program player, forward and reverse functions, and a VFD display with track and time info.
NAD has also put a lot of thought int the C 516BEE’s design, making it more sleek and perfect to pair with the company’s C 316BEE integrated amplifier.
“While NAD is focused on the development of a broad range of wireless and streaming audio products, we also know music lovers still have collections of hundreds or even thousands of CDs. So there is still a need for a high performance CD player,” says Greg Stidsen, NAD’s director of technology and product planning. “For those audiophiles where cost is a consideration, the C 516BEE will not disappoint. True to NAD’s design philosophy, we’ve focused our investment in areas that will provide the most sonic benefit and avoided the frills that only add cost and complexity.”
NAD says that the C 516BEE is available now.
