It may be tough keeping up with changing technology, but NAD Electronics was able to do so effortlessly with its Modular Design Construction (MDC) components to help boost the company’s popular Theater Series electronics.

Four new products in the series—the T 785 HD AV Receiver, T 775 HD AV Receiver, T 765 HD AV Receiver and T 175 HD Preamp-Tuner-Processor—feature the MDC modules for beefing up features, capabilities and connectivity.

The plug-in modules (AM 100, AM 200, VM 100 and VM 200) handle digital audio and HDMI functions, component and analog video functions, and two-channel and multi-channel audio so you get treated to more advanced audio decoding, calibration and image processing.

Among the highlights of each:

  • T 785 and T 175—Have AM 200 and VM 200 modules, dual 32-bit Aureus 7.1 DSPs by Texas Instruments, Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless audio, Sigma Designs’ VXP broadcast studio image processor, film mode detection and programmable scaling with aspect ratio conversion; MSRPs of $3,999 and $2,999, respectively.
  • T 775—Has AM 200 and VM 100 modules, dual 32-bit Aureus 7.1, Audyssey, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; MSRP $2,999.
  • T 765—AM 100 and VM 100 modules, HDMI 1.3 repeaters for three digital sources, on-screen display, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; MSRP $2,499.

Look for the new pieces to the Theater Series to arrive in February.
