This year’s hot holiday gift seemed to be the digital picture frame. Hoping to get a jump on next year’s wishlists—or spring impulse buying—is Mustek, with the PF-i700.

This new class of digital picture frame combines a 7-inch digital photo frame with an iPod docking station.

“For years consumers have stored their music libraries on iPods, and now they’re saving their favorite photos, TV shows, video clips and movies there, too,” explains David Ficken, national sales & marketing manager for Mustek. “The new PF-i700 has the expanded multimedia capabilities to play all these digital entertainment options on one screen without the cable clutter, redefining today’s iPod experience.”

The 7-inch screen has a 480 x 234 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It plays photos and even video, although I can’t imagine that anyone will use that feature to watch iPod video (unless it’s a quickie home movie).

Compatible with a variety of memory cards, the PF-i700 is scheduled to ship in March for $130.
