Meridian Gives G65 Surround Controller New Design
The new product is the latest incarnation of the 565 Digital Surround Controller.
Meridian is known for its high-tech components. Now, they are giving a classic an even more modern spin. The company just debuted the G65 Surround Controller, the next incarnation of the company’s classic 565 Digital Surround Controller.
The 565 Digital Surround Controller was first introduced back in 1994, so it’s nice to get the upgrade. The G65 is designed to work alongside Meridian’s HD621, so you can connect a variety of AV sources to your setup. The end result boasts unified control over time alignment, bass management and surround sound processing.
Designed to drive Meridian’s DSP loudspeakers, the G65 has a card-based construction using 7-layer boards. It includes Smart Source technology, the Apodising upsampling system, and Meridian Room Correction. It also has new menu features to blend in control of Enhanced Bass Alignment and Centre Elevation.
Available in silver or black, the G65 includes a bead-blasted metal and glass chassis, eight channels of SpeakerLink and XLR analogue output, two SpeakerLink inputs, bi-directional RS-232 for control with feedback, and much more.
The G65 will be available in early December, with an MSRP of $7,000. Meridian will also offer a package with the G65 and HD621, priced at $10,000.
