Meridian’s 810 Reference Video System is a bigger movie monster than King Kong and Godzilla combined.

This isn’t one of your easy peasy packages at a nice price. Designed to produce a killer home theater experience, the 810 combines the D-ILA-based 810 Reference Video Projector and the 810 Reference Video Scaler.

The projector boasts a resolution of 4096 x 2400 pixels or 10 megapixels. Other specs include a lamp that can blow 4,000 lumens and a 10,000:1 native contrast ratio. The scaler feeds the projector, converting any digital source to a 10-megapixel resolution. It also packs Qdeo video processing technology.

Merdian says it delivers “the most realistic home theater performance in the world.” Of course, that kind of experience doesn’t come cheap. Expect this combo to pack a punch to the tune of $185,000.

Neither product will be available separately, but there will be four variations on the 810 package, to adjust to different throw lengths. All will start shipping in limited quantities by Q3, with full availability coming by the end of the year.
