Marantz is making even more options for the discerning digital audio fan. The company just announced the NA8005 Network Audio Player and DAC, a new component that will be available this July.
Based on the company’s Reference Class NA-11S1, the NA8005 is designed to work with all of today’s popular music sources. Users can tap into streaming services like Spotify Connect, as well as content on Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices. The NA8005 has an Ethernet port and access to thousands of web radio stations and support for Apple AirPlay and DLNA 1.5.
Besides being able to handle several audio file types (WAV, WMA, MP3, MPEG-4 AAC, FLAC and ALAC, as well as FLAC HD 192 kHz/24bits files and WAV 192 kHz/24bits), the NA8005 features a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a headphone amp, Marantz’s own HDAM and HDAM-SA2 circuitry, and both front- and rear-panel USB inputs.
Also worth noting is that the NA8005 is compatible with the Marantz Remote App for iOS and Android devices.
Marantz will start selling the NA8005 next month, with an MSRP of $1,199.
