LG Tour Shows Off Energy-Efficient Fridge


Five-city tour shows how to live greener and more sustainably.

LG is walking the talk with a Greener Living Tour that not only shows off the company’s new high-capacity LFX31925 Energy Star-certified refrigerator, but shows how you can live healthier and greener.

The five-city farmers market circuit, done in conjunction with Good Housekeeping, kicked off last week in New York City and will visit Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The events showcase LG’s new super-capacity French-door refrigerator, which recently earned the Good Housekeeping Seal. LG says the fridge has about 20 percent more capacity than the standard 36-inch width refrigerator, enough for 51 gallons of milk or bushels of fresh produce.

The Energy Star-qualified refrigerator exceeds government energy standards by 20 percent and offers a host of features to help keep foods fresh longer. LG says its Linear Compressor can vary the fridge’s compressor output depending on need, and has fewer moving parts, which creates less friction and saves more energy. This leads to fewer temperature swings, which means users save energy and money. The new compressor also drives LG’s new Smart Cooling System, which helps extend the life of fresh foods.

In other words, you can have your great big life and lots of storage, while saving energy and being green.

At each visit on the six-week tour, a renowned raw food chef performs cooking demonstrations using locally grown seasonal produce stored in LG’s refrigerator.
Visitors to the events will have the opportunity to use LG’s G-Slate tablets to join LG in taking the “Change the World, Start with Energy Star” Pledge, and consider behavioral changes that will save them money and help save the planet. The national campaign, sponsored by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, encourages Americans to join with millions of others in taking small, individual steps that make a big difference in addressing climate change. Those who take the pledge will be automatically entered into a drawing for the chance to win the LG French-door refrigerator valued at $2,999. One winner will be chosen at the end of the tour.
