Lenovo Lays Out New All-in-One Desktop

Lenovo IdeaCentre 600

Lenovo’s IdeaCentre A600 features a 21.5-inch frameless screen and a design that measures only one inch at its slimmest point.

The IdeaCentre A600 slims down the PC package, without skimping on features.

Those looking to free up some workspace will appreciate the look of Lenovo‘s IdeaCentre 600.

The 21.5-inch panel delivers HD (1920x1080) images, with a 16:9 aspect ratio. If you are looking to brag, the curvy unit is supposedly the thinnest one you can get, at a mere one inch (at its slimmest point).

The performance isn’t too shabby, either. Choose between Intel Core2 Duo processors, optional ATI Radeon graphics card technology with DirectX10 support, up to 4GB of fast DDR3 memory, and up to 1TB (1000GB) of hard drive space. There’s also an integrated sound system, which includes subwoofer sounds and Dolby Home Theatre audio certification.

Other features include a gaming remote, as well as options for a digital TV tuner and Vista Media Center. Sounds like something for your bedroom or office, but as Gizmodo points out, we’re not sure if the unit offers HDMI. If it does, the company isn’t crowing—and wouldn’t that be odd? It does have Wi-Fi support, a card reader, side-mounted USB and FireWire ports, though.

So it sounds nice, but is it truly “all-in-one” if it doesn’t have a Blu-ray player? It doesn’t come standard, but that’s another option. Just expect it to pump up the $999 starting price.
