A lot of high-end manufacturers seem to be making music for the masses—and when we say “masses,” we mean everyone with two ears. Headphones are the hot seller these days, and you don’t need a big home theater or even a room to enjoy these portable products.

The latest to get into headphones is KEF. The company just launched the KEF M Series, with over-ear and in-ear models.

KEF’s M500 over-ear headphones use a full-range 40mm neodymium driver with a light, copper-clad aluminum voice-coil. Other features include an aluminum frame, breathable and sweat-resistant memory foam earpads, and the “Smart Hinge” for folding up the set for travel.

For something a little smaller, the M200 in-ear buds have a user-adjustable Secure Arm and a rigid aluminum driver, as well as DDD (Dual Dynamic Driver) technology, a 10mm driver for the bass, and a 5.5mm dynamic neodymium driver for midrange and high frequencies.

KEF says that both of the models in the M Series are compliant with the CENELEC standard (EN60065/A12) for protection against hearing damage caused by excessive sound volume.

KEF has priced the M500 at $299.99, with the M200 coming in at $100 less. If you want to check out the KEF M500 in action, watch the video clip below.
