3D is still going strong, and so is the need for 3D glasses. So Jasco Products Company has decided to throw its hat into the 3D ring, launching a new brand, HD3 Technology.

The new brand will make its debut this summer, with a line of 3D glasses for the home and for use at the theater. At launch, HD3 will focus on polarized glasses. In other words, don’t expect to find something to go with your active 3D TV. These models will work with passive 3D TV models. You can also use them in REAL 3D theaters around the world.

Because these are passive glasses, it also means that each model won’t need internal or external batteries, which should translate into a light, comfy fit.

“The 3D industry is steadily growing,” says Cameron Trice, Jasco’s executive VP of marketing and product development. “We wanted to make sure to position Jasco in a rapidly growing category by offering a wide variety of designs consumers can choose from.  It was important in the development of this line that we focused on lighter designs that are comfortable, stylish and fit the needs of every avid 3D user.”

Jasco says that the HD3 Technology brand will launch with four models, including a clip-on style for use with eyeglasses, a little something for the kids, a “sporty” style, and an “urban” style. When HD3 Technology 3D glasses hit select retailers this summer, MSRPs will range from $19.99 to $24.99.
