iSmartAlarm Security System Starts Shipping
The new wireless system doesn't have any contracts or monthly fees.
There are a lot of companies out there putting the “i” in front of product names. However, most are typically entertainment-based. Now, a company named iSmart Alarm, Inc. is hoping to add the same buzz to its security system.
The company just started shipping the iSmartAlarm Home Security System. However, the hook on this setup doesn’t really have anything to do with any letters in the alphabet. It’s an easy solution, which doesn’t require wiring or monthly fees. Instead, it works in conjunction with a user’s smartphone for monitoring, system control, statistics, and more.
If the name looks familiar, it could be from iSmartAlarm’s Indiegogo campaign from earlier this year. The company launched on the crowd-funding site and went on to exceed its fundraising goal by 450 percent.
“We’re proud to announce that shipping is underway and moving smoothly, and that we are able to deliver on our promise of providing a low-cost, mobile solution for renters and homeowners,” said Raymond Meng, co-founder and CEO. “We can now turn our attention to ensuring our customers have the best possible experience, and growing the company to take advantage of the smart home and home security space. The world, and technology within the world, is advancing fast, and home and family security must keep up.”
While iSmartAlarm ships out products to its initial backers, the company will be accepting new orders. Packages start at $199 and are available with motion sensors, door and window sensors, home remote controls and panic alarms, and the streaming and pan-tilt iCamera. Of course, devices are also available a la carte. The company hopes to add outdoor cameras, satellite sirens, home safety sensors, and pet tracking devices by the end of the calendar year.
