We’ve all become dependent upon those portables. Whether your poison is a smartphone or tablet, nothing is more depressing than when that portable loses power. Enter IOGEAR’s GearPower High Capacity Mobile Power Station.

The newly announced charging solution can add a little juice to dying tablets, smartphones, cameras and other mobile USB and Micro-USB devices. Also known as the GMP6600P, this device can revive two portables at once, offering 6600 mAh (milliampere-hours), whether you’re on a plane, on vacation, or on the back deck.

The GMP6600P needs to charge, too. Connect it to any computer’s USB or to a wall outlet, using the Micro-USB power adapter. Since it only weighs 0.75 pounds, it’s easy to stuff into a travel bag or backpack.

Once charged, the device can deliver on-the-go power through lithium polymer battery technology, as well as USB 2.1A and 1A power ports. The first one works with iPads, tablets and other compatible devices. The 1A is perfect for cell phones, MP3 players, and cameras.

“Communication, entertainment and work productivity are all becoming more mobile in nature,” said Bill Nguyen, senior marketing manager for IOGEAR. “The new GearPower High Capacity Mobile Power Station efficiently answers one of the basic needs people have when functioning in a technology driven mobile society, how to stay charged.”

IOGEAR is now selling the GearPower High Capacity Mobile Power Station. It has an MSRP of $79.95. The smaller GearPower Portable iPhone/iPod Battery Pack is also available, with the smaller MSRP of $24.95.
