The iHome iPod lamp uses a 60-watt Type A bulb, and promises 3 watts of total speaker output.
Are iPod-enhanced lamps such a bright idea?
Think there isn’t one more place left to stuff an iPod? iHome has a new nesting spot: your table lamp.
Checkolite International just announced a full line of iHome-branded, iPod-connectable lamps that play and charge that portable while lighting up your workspace.
All lamps have a universal docking station that can accommodate a slew of iPods, including the nano and mini.
Now what kind of sound does a lamp beam? The company throws around terms like “distortion-free” and “added bass features.” However, with prices starting around 50 bucks, we’re not getting our hopes up. It would make kind of a cutesy Christmas, birthday or office gift though.
Each of the new iHome lamps are now available at Lowe’s, Amazon.com, Costco, as well as other retailers.
