It’s nice to see some of the big boys acknowledge that not everyone has access inside their walls. Today, Honeywell announced LYNXR-I Self-Contained Wireless Control, the latest addition to the LYNX quick-install family. Designed with future expandability in mind, the LYNXR-I should prepare your dealer with the goods to address the emergence of VoIP, migration to cell phones and the growth of digital radio networks.

That’s right: Despite it being a wireless product, you’ll have to call in a pro to get one.

LYNXR-I supports the Honeywell family of communicators, including the 7845i and 7845GSM.  It also supports alarm reporting and downloading using IP and long-range radio. The LYNXR-I also works with ordinary telephone lines.

With features including compatibility with all 5800 Series devices and built-in two-way voice, which lets your central station company contact you in case of an emergency. Other key features include voice, a built-in message center, reminders, “Follow Me” and scheduling.
