Honeywell Debuts Total Connect Comfort Services
The new offering allows users to remotely monitor thermostats from any smartphone, tablet or PC.
It’s hard to keep track of energy costs—especially in these upcoming chilly months. Honeywell just announced a little something that could make the process easy, and a bit high-tech.
The company’s newly announced Total Connect Comfort Services are designed to give customers comfort, connectivity and control over energy costs. It can also do all of those things over pretty much anything with web connectivity.
So maybe you can’t adjust the thermostat through a Blu-ray player—at least not yet. However, Total Connect Comfort Services will work with just about any smartphone, tablet or PC.
The system works alongside a Honeywell programmable thermostat system. Once installed, customers can log into a Total Connect Comfort Services account from any web browser. A free app is also available through iTunes. (Sorry Android users; maybe soon!)
The web-based tool allows customers to tweak temperature settings, as well as monitor monthly usage. Besides linking several thermostats, users can also check indoor and outdoor humidity. Honeywell plans to add additional functionality in the near future.
“There is an enormous opportunity to integrate and connect home comfort with everyday technologies to help our home and business owners be more productive, energy efficient, and most of all, comfortable,” said John Tyhacz, vice president and general manager for Honeywell’s Home Comfort and Energy Systems business. “Total Connect Comfort Services is a natural extension of Honeywell’s 120+ yearlong track record of innovation and commitment to providing ease and comfort to our customers.”
Honeywell’s Total Connect Comfort Services works in conjunction with the RedLINK Internet Gateway, a modem-like device that wirelessly connects any RedLINK Comfort System, including Honeywell’s smart thermostats the Prestige, Prestige 2.0, Prestige IAQ, Prestige 2.0 IAQ, Wireless FocusPRO and EConnect, to a user’s Internet router.
