Gefen just announced a new option that’s going to make it a lot easier to get video from point A to point B—and without a bunch of messy wires. The company just introduced its newest Wireless Extender option.

We don’t have an exact model number or price, but we do know that this compact solution uses 60GHz technology to transmit high-def video with 3D pass-through up to 33 feet. That sort of range makes this a nice option for in-room use.

According to Gefen, the Wireless Extender can support uncompressed 1080p full HD and multichannel audio, such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. It also boasts an easy setup, since it plays nice with set-top boxes, gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, laptops, and pretty much any other HDMI-enabled devices.

Just connect the source to the sender and the receiver to a display or projector. The data is then transferred wirelessly at 4Gbps. Other features include support for up to eight sources on one receiver, built-in HDCP compliance, and an included IR remote.
