Two new video scalers from Gefen—the Home Theater Scaler and the Home Theater Scaler Plus—both deliver scalable high definition video in multiple resolutions up to 1080p, plus digital audio from each source to the display.

The scalers connect different home theater sources to any HDTV display or projector using HDMI.

The Home Theater Scaler ($449 MSRP) comes equipped with two HDMI inputs each with separate audio in S/PDIF and TOSlink formats, and two component inputs each with analog audio. When all four audio and video inputs are connected, users switch between them using the IR remote. Each source is output in HDMI format, with mirrored audio delivered in both S/PDIF and TOSlink. Video is scaled and output in high definition resolutions up to 1080p.

The Home Theater Scaler Plus ($499 MSRP) comes equipped with one composite or S-Video input with audio, one component input with audio and two HDMI inputs, each with audio. The Home Theater Scaler Plus scales all HDTV resolutions up to 1080p and switches between sources at command via IR remote.

The Home Theater Scaler and the Home Theater Scaler Plus are available to order through Gefen’s Web site.
