Starting today, the Geek Squad will start offering gaming services.
Gee, geeks that like video games? Who’d a thunk it? Now the Geek Squad is turning that passion into another revenue stream. The company just announced it will offer both in-store and at-home gaming services.
The Geeks are marketing the services to families that can’t quite figure out how to set the parental controls. “I love to play video games with my sons, but I can’t always be there to monitor what’s coming into our home via the gaming console,” said Geek Squad Deputy of Counter Intelligence Frances Gallup. “As a parent, I can attest to the necessity of parental controls on video game systems. And, as a Geek Squad Agent, I’m thrilled to offer an easy and affordable solution to the rigors of setting up and navigating a gaming system’s parental controls.”
However, they will also offer other services, including data transfers and network setup. In-store customization starts at $30, with data transfer costing $40 and setup and networking running $130.
