Epson’s Sub-$2K 1080p Projector

Epson has a new projector that may make you want to bust open that piggybank. After all, with a $1,999 price tag, that piggybank may be all that you need.

Epson has always played around with low prices on its projectors, but this one is quite the bargain. The PowerLite Home Cinema 6100 is the only 3LCD 1080p front projector that sells for less than $2K—at least the only one we know about.

Providing a full 1920x1080 high-def bang for your buck, the 6100 uses Epson’s latest-gen D7 high-def LCD technology. 

“Our goal is to drive the growth of the home theater market in a wide range of customer segments, bring incredible big-screen experiences to first-time home entertainment consumers and to the most discerning AV elitists,” said Rajeev Mishra, Epson’s director of Projector Marketing and Development. “The Home Cinema 6100 is especially ideal for home theater enthusiasts, delivering the optimal balance of quality, performance, ease-of-use, and flexibility at an outstanding value.”

Other features include an 18,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 1,800 lumens white and color light output, an updated E-TORL lamp design, and an exclusive Dynamic Iris system. It also has two HDMI 1.3 inputs, as well as an S-Video, a composite, and a VGA-type RGB input.

Expect to see the Epson Home Cinema 6100 this November.
