Onkyo TX-NR5007 Receiver
Sometimes people ask me why my deals are always low- to mid-market products.
It’s mainly because I’m cheap, but also because flagship products usually demand flagship prices, closed distribution networks and warranty restrictions.
Luckily, every now and then, a huge online retailer cracks that distribution network and drives down the price of a great flagship product.
NewEgg found its way into Onkyo’s authorized dealer network by selling a ton of entry-level receivers and HTiBs. Now they’re leveraging their buying power to bring the price down on Onkyo’s flagship receiver, offering the TX-NR5007 for $1799 ($900 off MSRP).
This 55-pound beast includes 145w x 9 amplification, every audio decoding and processing spec under the sun (including Dolby PLIIz and Audyssey DSX for height/wide channels), HQV Reon VX video processing, dual HDMI outputs, 8 HDMI inputs, and Burr-Brown 192 kHz/32-Bit DACs.
Consumer market receivers don’t get much better than this, especially not at that price.
