Still using your smartphone’s speakers? Like, for music? Smartphones and tablets have become an endless source for music. Unfortunately, they don’t sound all that awesome. Thankfully, there’s an equally endless number of speakers designed to crank up that sound.

A company named CUBEDGE is the latest to throw its hat into the ring—or at least its portable speaker. The company just announced plans to ship the EDGE.sound, a new Bluetooth speaker.

Designed to work with a variety of portable devices (including the iPhone 5), the EDGE.sound boasts Bluetooth 3.0, as well as sound up to 95db and a frequency range of 40Hz-20 kHz. Other features include a built-in rechargeable battery for between 10 and 14 hours of playback and a built-in microphone for use with Skype, iChat and FaceTime features.

Also, CUBEDGE says that the speaker is environmentally friendly. Before you scoff, just know that it has non-brominated flame retardants and no PVC, and comes packed in a reusable and recyclable aluminum container.

“We’re excited to be shipping the new EDGE.sound right in time for the new iPhone 5 launch,” said Eric Kim, founder of CUBEDGE. “With the 30-pin connector being replaced, it is now all the more essential for users to have a convenient, no-docking-necessary option for enjoying their favorite tunes. The EDGE.sound will deliver just that, with a high-quality design and powerful sound.”

CUBEDGE is selling the EDGE.sound now. It can be found on and Amazon for $149.
