Do all of you Android fans feel left out of the Crestron control party? Not anymore. Android users will soon have another way to control that system, via an Android app.

Back in 2009, the company announced the Mobile Pro app for iPhone and iPod touch users (pictured). Last year, they added iPad access. Now, 2011 is the year of the Mobile Pro G Control App for Android.

Just like the previous apps, this new version will turn any Android device into a fully functional Crestron touchscreen. It allows homeowners to control lighting, thermostats, entertainment, security systems, and other connected systems from almost anywhere, using an Android smartphone or tablet. One app can also control multiple locations, adding options for a vacation home or office into the mix.

The Mobile Pro G Control App for Android has a graphical interface, which provides real-time data, access to audio volume, shade positions and lighting levels, and album, song and artist info.

“Whether you own an Apple or Android smartphone or tablet, there’s a Crestron mobile control solution to accommodate you,” said Fred Bargetzi, Crestron’s VP of technology. “We’re committed to keeping our customers on the cutting edge by offering the solutions that bring the latest, most popular technology into their lives. Our new App for Android is just the latest example of that commitment.”

At last peek, Mobile Pro G Control App for Android was not available in the Android Market. Check back soon! Until then, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users can get the app in the iTunes Store for $99.99. Crestron Mobile G (the “non-Pro” version) is also available, as a free download.
