Cineversum Adds Anamorphic Lens Kits

Cineversum BlackWing One

The BlackWing One uses three 0.6-inch LCoS panels to deliver a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Two new additions can enhance aspect ratios for the company's BlackWing One projector.

One would think that a $6,500 projector would come ready to rock. However, Cineversum wants you to pimp that purchase a bit, by adding a choice of new Anamorphic Lens Kits.

The new kits are designed to work with the company’s BlackWing One, a 3-chip 1080p projector, which promises to pump out more than a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 1,400 lumens, and supports two HDMI 1.3 connections.

Of course, we love the magic of anamorphic. However, we’d love it even more if it came with the original purchase—or was just a squeak cheaper.

The BlackWing One Theater Concept Kit will cost you a cool $12,840, which is almost twice as much as the projector itself. That cost will get you motorized slider mechanism, the anamorphic lens, an RF remote, and an RF emitter for a 12-volt trigger. The BlackWing One Cinemax Kit is slightly cheaper, but still more than the projector, at $6,725. For that price, you’ll have to forego moving parts. However, you can control the aspect ratios from the projector remote or any RS-232 device.

Both seem like pricey options, but if you’ve already invested in the BlackWing One, it’s something to dream about. If you’ve got the cash, both kits are available now.
