Catch The Masters in 4K at HiFi House Event
The CE pro is hosting guests to watch golf's major on Sony's 84" 4K TV
The Masters ... a tradition unlike any other, as CBS’ Jim Nantz likes to say. Bet Nantz would find it a viewing tradition unlike others if he joined HiFi House for its Masters party on Saturday, April 13—you know, if he wasn’t going to see it in person.
For those who can’t go to Augusta and want to watch golf’s finest play the season’s first major among the lush greens and beautiful flora, you can get crystal-clear views during “moving day” by heading to Philadelphia-area HiFi House. The award-winning custom electronics firm is holding viewing parties at its locations in Broomall and Jenkintown, Pa., and Wilmington, Del.
While Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and defending champ Bubba Watson will likely be among the golfers trying to make their way up the leaderboard, the real attraction for golf fans will be watching it all unfold on Sony’s new 84-inch XBR-84X900 4K Ultra HDTV. With four times the resolution of 1080p HD, you’ll be sure to keep a good eye on the ball as it soars among the blue sky, plus those CBS ultra-slow motion shots will look like stunning photograph stills.
HiFi House will also feature coverage of the event in 3D, hopefully now with a few years under its belt able to capture the tournament a bit better than it did upon initial 3D treatment back in 2010.
We’ve seen numerous events by custom electronics pros showing off Sony’s 4K TV of late, introducing folks to the new Ultra HD technology that has also earned praise in its ability to render 3D better than current 1080p TVs. Our Grant Clauser, in fact, evaluated the XBR-84X900 for a review at one of the HiFi House locations.
But the 4K screen won’t be the only viewing option available, as HiFi House plans on rounding out tee time with a TV foursome that also includes the Elite LED, the Samsung 75-inch ES9000, and the 90-inch LED biggie from Sharp.
Pizza and light refreshments will be served, and you can drop off a business card for a chance to win a round of golf at Huntingdon Valley Country Club. Click here for more information on the event and to RSVP. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.; ESPN 3D coverage begins at 4.
Meanwhile, check out this 12-seat basement home theater and this 1700s-era farmhouse kitchen with a modern electronics makeover installed by HiFi House’s Elite Home Technologies group.
