If you are just starting to put together a home theater, maybe you aren’t ready for the Runco we mentioned earlier today. One start-up deserves another—maybe something like BryteWerks.

BryteWerks is a start-up company that has just launched a line of hybrid media centers. What makes each one a hybrid is that each member of the BryteWerks Model One line packs in an Intel Core CPU-based digital projector. In fact, it seems to pack in everything you’d want in a home theater.

First off, the little cube promises a 1920 x 1200 resolution using a LCD Native WUXGA panel. Other features include 6,000 - 11,000 lumens, a 1000:1 True Contrast Ratio, and a 1:1 throw of 1 to 50 feet.

One the inside, the BryteWerks Model One has an Intel Core i3 to i7 HTPC CPU, a slot-loaded Blu-ray player and up to 2TB of internal storage (including a 500GB SSD).

Around the back, the cube sports a 720p 8.9-inch touchpanel display, which can provide manual control. Of course, it also comes with a remote or you can pair your Android and/or iOS devices with the free XBMC app.

The Model One also has support for WiFi, Bluetooth, and good old hardwired Ethernet. There’s no word on if any services (like Netflix) will be embedded. If not, there are dual USB and HDMI ports and 5.1 individual analog surround sound outputs, so you can hook up plenty of AV extras.

One outstanding question is whether users can rip Blu-rays from the drive to the internal storage. Probably not, but we’re guessing BryteWerks will get the question a few hundred times when they show off the Model One at next week’s Consumer Electronics Show.

If you can’t make it to the show, you can still buy a BryteWerks. The company plans to sell four different models through their website, which will launch on January 9, 2012. Prices will range from $2,449 to $5,999.
