Disney has been one of Blu-ray’s biggest backers, and the company is again pushing the limits of the technology.

The studio’s Bolt comes with a 5.1 DTS Master Audio (24-bit/48kHz) lossless soundtrack and embedded provisions for D-Box’s motion simulation technologies, according to TheHDRoom.

The 1080p, 1.78:1 video is about a Hollywood dog that thinks he has superhero powers and, after escaping the TV studio production lot to save his human, realizes that is ordinary.

The movie, which was shown in 3D as part of its theatrical release, looks and sounds stunning and it will be a disc that many installers should consider as a primary source of demo content.

Sin City, which stars Bruce Willis and Jessica Alba, will also include D-Box Motion Codes when it is released on Blu-ray on April 21, says TheHDRoom.

D-Box has also announced that when Vin Diesel’s “Fast & Furious” opens in theaters on April 3, it will be the first theatrical feature to use its Motion Code technology.

As part of the movie’s theatrical run, D-Box, the Mann Chinese 6 theater in Hollywood, and the UltraStar Surprise Pointe 14 theater in Ariz. will incorporate special seating areas that utilize the company’s technologies.

“We are proud to showcase our immersive D-Box Motion code technology with ‘Fast & Furious’ from Universal,” says Claude McMaster, president and chief executive officer of D-Box Technologies.

“This will be a first for moviegoers as they will be able to not only watch the movie, but also feel the action like never before in a commercial theater environment.”
