B&O PLAY Puts Two Sets of Headphones into Its Lineup
The BeoPlay H3 and BeoPlay H6 will start shipping this summer.
These days, it’s hard to find a high-end manufacturer not cranking out headphones. Bang & Olufsen appears to be the latest company offering its signature sound in a portable package. The company just announced two pairs of headphones under its B&O PLAY brand.
The BeoPlay H3 and BeoPlay H6 don’t have that funky look that you’d expect from a company that invented a circular speaker—or these. However, they promise good sound for when you’re on the go.
According to the announcement, B&O PLAY conducted extensive studies on the shape and curves of the human ear. Studies—plural! The end result is what went into the BeoPlay H3 in-ear model and the BeoPlay H6, which has an over-ear design.
The H6 has 40mm custom-designed drivers with neodymium magnets that are angled for the best distance and sound direction into the ears. It also has an internal bass port, anodized aluminum on the adjustable slider arm, and cowhide leather all the way from New Zealand.
For something more compact, the H3 has a custom-designed 10.8mm driver and the new Micro Bass Port. Other features include a rigid aluminium body with 23 ventilation holes, which boasts a more open soundstage.
“A wide range of headphones on the market today compromise on quality and sound performance,” says Henrik Taudorf Lorensen, VP of B&O PLAY. “In the making of BeoPlay H3 and H6, we’ve worked with professional sound technicians and studio musicians, to offer people a pristine sound experience in a package that is a delight to wear.”
The BeoPlay H3 and BeoPlay H6 will start shipping this July priced at $249 and $399, respectively.
